Surfer loooking for money to finish a surf film..
Allan Weisbecker here, I don’t know if you’ve heard of me or not – I  wrote a pretty popular surfing memoir called In Search of Captain Zero a  while back about a road trip I took to Costa Rica to find my buddy that went missing, and my surf adventures along the way. I also wrote 2 other  memoirs, and am currently working on a filmed memoir called Water Time; Surf Travel Diary of a MadMan. You can learn more about this one by visiting my website banditobooks.com.

I’m back down south in Mexico now, will be here until late May, working on Water Time; Surf Travel diary of a MadMan. Still have a few months to go to finish. The surf here has been firing for over 2 weeks straight. Heaven.

I’m trying to raise finishing money, partially via the website called  kickstarter.com. The way it works is you set a goal of how much money you need and folks contribute (its via Amazon, actually). I set my goal  at $10k. Problem is if you don't reach the goal you don't get any of the  money pledged.

You have to do it in a specified time period. I’ve got 5 days left and  I’m short on pledges. As of right now I need about $2k more pledged.

I’m hoping you can help get me close (if I get close I can have  friends that can throw in the rest and I reimburse them).

If you haven’t seen the first 7 minutes of the film, you can see it at  banditobooks.com

Here is a quick blurb I put together that you can use if you want:
‘Allan Weisbecker has been working on his filmed memoir Water Time; Surf Travel Diary of a MadMan since the fall of 2007 and is hoping for contributions to help with finishing money – legal expenses, music  rights, etc. – via Amazon’s Kickstarter.com website. You can go to  Banditobooks.com  to earn more and see the first 7 minutes of the  film.’

Surfers, Lets see if we can get people from Surfing San Diego to help.
