Yes, chilun, it's time to put on the party hats...
It's gonna be happening at San OOOOOO!!!!!! Saturday, July 11.
Pray for surf!
And bring whatever else you think you might need for a day and evening at the legendary Mecca of surfing, San Onofre State Beach.
Maybe you've heard of Surfest before, if you haven't lived it, you don't know it.
You want to know it.
So we hope to see ya there, come one come all, it's all about fun for all!
All skill levels, all ages, families and singles.
The karma levels at San O are enough to last you through at least a work week.
7.11
Gotta be a lucky day to have a Surfest!Clap

Sweet, glad to hear that you guys are all coming, Satch, was great to see you again, been way to long.  Looking forward to riding with you at San O!  Swede, definitely!  Bring the kids, their friends and the parents of their friends.  It's always a good time of surfing, sun, food and drink.  The karma at San O is unique, hope you feel it.

Mess, glad to hear you will DEFINITELY be there!  Yeah, bring the booties, lol!

I might actually be able to make it to this one! Last time, I think I went down to Trails. To get to dogpatch, would you park at the main "Surf Beach" parking lot or would you park further south?
I'll tell you what I'm blathering about...
I've got information, man.

That said, I really do want to try, and I can still make it on June 17.  There's a place in La Jolla that rents soft boards and wetsuits.  It opens at 8 a.m.  I can probably be at Shores by 8:30 or 9?  I might bring my friend Jenn if she doesn't have to work.

You still up for this? Turns out maybe I can rearrange schedule and surf Wed.
Won't know till Monday.

BurnerBen,
Yes, definitely want to park at the Surf Beach.  Dogpatch is north of the powerplant at the very south end of the surf beach.  To far to carry your boards, cooler, wood whatever you bringing.

MathTeacher,
Mike, gonna be really good to ride with you again.

DukDiv,
Hope you can make it, been quite awhile since we've riden together as well!

looking forward to this. hope to make it with my wife and 16month old daughter.
the only car we have that fits the boards is a 10 mpg 64 ford fairlane.
so it's a pretty good drive from la mesa area to san o in that car.
i am trying to get my car running before that, but it's not looking good.

With high tide at 8:44, probably hit San Elijo, Cardiff Reef, Suckouts, whatever you want to call it.  On my way to check reports.  Heard it was pitifully small today, any truth to that rumour?  Pray for surf!

Directions;  Get off on Basilone Rd.  Turn left.  Follow  signs to "Surfing Beach."  Pay $10.00 admission per car at gate.  Follow the road, will go down a hill, and then turn to the left.  Will go down another hill, turn to the left on to the beach drive.  The last bathroom on the left, we usually camp out about 50 yards north.  There are two clumps of bamboo where the showers are, we're usually between the two clumps.  It's almost as far south as you can go until you hit the dead end.  If you hit the dead end, you went about 100 yards to far.

Know exactly where it is, if you find the lifeguard station that says "old mans" it's about 50 yards past it

Have the kids make some Rice Krispie Treats or something and sell them.  I'll buy some, $2.00 a treat?  Bet plenty of others would as well.  We'll figure out a way to get you $20 or $30 for gas if that will get you up there.  Hell, we could have a contest for best BBQ, you get the prize!  I don't know Brah, I'd hate to think you couldn't make it for lack of gas funds.  That would really suck.
