Topic: Surfest Poll...tweaked? Posted: 15 July 2004 at 1:47pm |

Ok, let's get political again:
the surfest location poll was tweaked.
I'm not even counting the endless posts by Zach/obrider saying magnificent things (true? we'll see saturday)about OB and convincing everyone to vote for that location, that's just propaganda, but it's not unfair.
the problem is "obrider", as some of us know, was "bmorcareful" on the original SSD forum. Well, i looked at the member list and guess what...there is a "bmorecareful" on the list. I wonder what location did bmorecareful vote for...and what about obrider? and there may be more.
...mmm...bad boy, zach, bad boy...
I hope OB doesn't disappoint anyone....
Wookie, I'll probably only be able to be there in the afternoon, my wife keeps getting tickets and she's doing intensive traffic school sessions. I hope to see you anyway

Moai, point well taken. A lot of seasoned surfers are well aware that OB and the cliffs are primarily fall and winter spots. True, on occaision there are spots that get a little bit of south swell. And yes, there are great places for a beach bash. What about the secluded beaches near subs and Chas-imotos?
If surf is desired, somewhere in La Jolla or far North county would be best. Don't forget that San Onofre (weak) or Church and Trestles are in San Diego County. That way everybody drives. Although from the sound of thing some will need a designated driver.
Either way, it appears by past posts that fun will be had by all, no matter what. So there you go!

Wherever, just show up, you won't be disappointed. If I didn't have to go to a family member funeral, I would be there...

Ouch. Although I understand your concern. You are wrong on this point. First, let me tell you that when i originally signed up on the new forum, I was bmorecareful. Then, I made a post changing my name since no one knew what bmorecareful really meant. So, with that being said. I would like you to go check the "POLL" again. And now, as soon as im done this post, I will login as bmorecareful and cast my vote, since only one vote has been cast by myself as of yet. Now, furthermore, I was not trying to post propganda on this site concerning the location. I have been all over North County with people from this forum, trying various spots. Very popular spots. Oside, Cardiff, La jolla shores, all of which I was very unimpressed with. I surf every day in OB, and all I can say is that if there is a swell of ANY KIND, the pier will be breaking. Left and right. It is scientific. I go there every single day. And if you look at my other posts, I admit that sunset cliffs is a winter break, which breaks about 3 days out of the week right now. It pissed me off because i find myself everyday at the pier because it is breaking. And just for the record, unless the swell is from the right angle, OB cant handle gigantic swells. Good luck trying to surf the pier when its double overhead. You will die, that is if you can paddle through the ridiculous current. The pier created monsterous closeout sets in the winter until the swell comes in from extremely north or extremely south. Anyway, no hard feelings, but whoever voted for OB pier were probably one of the other 5-7 people from this site that have come down to surf with me. Ask lors, sharkey, topher, bmore2sd about OB. Ive been there with them for the past few weekends. Holla.

Im not sure what email address I used, but it said that it just sent me another confirmation email to activate. So, im sure wookie can vouch that bmorecareful cant post a message much less vote. peace.

Hey zach, no problem, relax.
I just wanted to heat it up a little bit, I though if we all get shaken we
might raise some water from the surface

hehe, no worries. I was just suprised to see that. But at any rate, surfest was a lot of fun, even though the swell was non-exsistant. But a lot of people came down from Oside and such on the 101 and checked every spot and said that it was flat everywhere, so we were screwed either way. We need to have a giant surfest for the first big winter swell so we can actually surf.
