Popotla Surf Guide
Popotla is a fun reef peak with a good left and a short right that works best on a low tide and everything from a northwest to southwest swell. The bottom is rocky so booties are advised and beginners are better off surfing elsewhere. The wave is actually in front of a gated community so access can be difficult. There is an RV park where you can stay and a restaurant to eat your fill after surfing. There is a crew of locals surf here so be respectful and courteous. To get to Popotla, take the toll road past Rosarito and exit onto the free road just before the AM/PM gas station. Popotla is roughly two kilometers south and is clearly marked.
