Choose Your Baja Surf Spot
Theresas Surf Guide
Perhaps one of the most famous surf spots in Northern Baja, K-38 is a really fun right hand point break that reels off and wraps into a bay. It is almost always crowded so it is not always the best option for finding empty waves with your friends, although it is worth considering for a midweek session when the rest of the masses are toiling at work. It is a rocky bottom so booties are recommended.
If K-38 is not looking like a good option, there is a rocky right hander just to the north of the bridge that is usually less crowded. It is not as perfect as K-38’s but can serve up some fun, sectiony waves on a medium to high tide. At low tide there are exposed rocks in the lineup so be extra careful if you are out there on a receding tide. It is not uncommon to lose a fin on a big bottom turn. To get to K-38/Theresas, (this one is pretty obvious) take the toll road past Rosarito and exit onto the free road just before the AM/PM gas station. Head south until you get to the K-38 kilometer marker.
